This nice and little town is a tourist attraction as it is known for the extensive use of blue and white colors all over the town. All kinds of souvenirs connected to Sidi Bou Said or not, can be bought in the main streets. You can get there by a TGM train, which runs from Tunis to La Marsa. Milene

Trip to Egypt

Inside the Orisis Temple I remember it was hot inside… but the story of god Osiris is quite interesting… You have to go! “…Osiris is the Egyptian god of life, death, and fertility. He is one of the oldest Gods for whom records have survived and first appears in the pyramid texts around 2400 BC, when his cult is already well established. He was widely worshipped until the forceable suppression of paganism in the Christian era. Osiris was not only the redeemer and merciful judge of the dead in the afterlife, but also the underworld agency that granted all life, including sprouting vegetation and the fertile flooding of the Nile River…” Sobek Temple, Kom Ombo “The temple at Kom Ombo is about 30 miles (48 km) north of Aswan and was built during the Graeco-Roman period (332 BC AD 395). There was an earlier structure from the 18th dynasty but little remains. The temple is unique because it is in fact a double temple, dedicated to Sobek the crocodile god, and Horus the falcon-headed god. The layout combines two temples in one with each side having its own gateways and chapels.” Edfu Temple, Edfu “Edfu is located 60Km to the north of Aswan. It was the 2nd Nome of Upper Egypt and the center of the cult of a triad of Gods, which consisted of Horus of Behdet, Hathor, and their son, Hor-Sama-Tawy. In the old Greek documents, Edfu was known as “Apollopolis Magna” because the Greeks identified Horus with their God Apollo.” text from this site Hatschepsut’s Temple, Deir el-Bahri This temple was named by Queen Hatshepsut (18th Dynasty) “Djeser Djeseru”, a hieroglyphic expression meaning, the Splendour of Splendours. In 1967, it was restored by an international group of experts lead by the Egyptian Antiquities Organization, and then the temple was open to visitors. It is partially engraved inside Al-Qurna Mountain, west of Luxor City which makes it very unique. This beautiful temple was also used as a background for presentation of Opera Aida a few years ago; and is one of the most characteristic temples in the whole Egypt for its design and decorations. Giza Pyramid Complex, Giza The Giza Necropolis stands on the Giza Plateau, on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. Located some eight kilometres inland into the desert from the old town of Giza on the Nile and some 25 kilometres (12.5 mi) southwest of Cairo city centre, this visit will give you a different sense of scale, color and the history of civilization.
